Here is our Christmas tree.
90% of the lights don't light up.
There are over 20 connectors in there and I don't have the energy to figure out the many combination possibilities.
Davin isn't home.
Kids are getting impatient and want to put ornaments on the tree. Mom's getting cranky.
Got 3 other strings of lights that we could wrap around our "lighted" tree.
None of them work.
I think it's bedtime.
Maybe I'll read them a Christmas story.
Maybe we'll see that our light deprived tree is nothing compared to trying to find a place to deliver a baby in the middle of the night.
Nothing compared to laying down on itchy hay with smelly cows and painful contractions.
Nothing compared to everything wonderful about that night when MY KING was born.
So I sit and look at our tree (which I first thought of as a sick joke by whoever designed this plug system for it). Now, I can look at it and be reminded of Jesus, the light of our world and that's enough for me.
No matter how many parts of my tree are broken and damaged and imperfect, His light is enough.
He has come to meet me here. He was born to die so that one day I could pray for Him to save my life.
